Why childfree

“We aren’t against kids, we just don’t want to travel with them.”

When I met my partner, we were both well on our way to turning 50, and traveling together was high on our priority list. As an “older” new couple we wanted to have silly, exciting, and new-to-us adventures, but quickly realized finding a travel advisor who specialized in child-free travel was pretty much non-existent. Every one we spoke to asked about our children, and when we said “none”, the assumed we meant either we weren’t traveling with them, or that they were grown and out of the house. It seemed unfathomable that we decided not to have children
